I did this with colored pencils. I love colored pencils.
I scanned it in. I hate scanners. It completely destroyed the background colors. The sky looks blue and it is purple in the real picture. The rest are okay, although the sun is a bit more orange than it should be. I played with it a bit in Photoshop to fix some dark spots on the sun and lighten some areas a bit, but nothing major 'cause that kinda takes away the point of drawing by hand. I considered taking a photograph of it, but I don't think the quality would have been as good...

I sort of combined the game's style with my own, but it's mostly my own style.

According to the all-knowing Wikipedia, the game Okami has a lot of references to the Chinese Zodiac. I wanted to use that element in the picture, so the sun rays are the 12 Chinese Zodiac signs: Rat, Snake, Rooster, Ram, Dog, Dragon, Tiger, Horse, Ox, Boar, Rabbit, Monkey. (No Cat because that's not actually part of the Zodiac.)

EDIT: Okay, just looked at it on another computer and the colors look fine. Must be my laptop then. Darn you laptop color distortions!!!
